Floreat goes to Trico

Floreat free school will no longer locate its temporary buildings on Brent Lea rec, but instead will open at an alternative site this September.
The Education Funding Agency (EFA) has identified a suitable site at Trico House, within the Great West Quarter development on Ealing Road. The two-form entry school will remain at this site for two years.

This site has only become available recently and was therefore not considered during the search for a temporary location which was undertaken earlier this year.

Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, said: “I’m pleased that this alternative temporary site has been found, which means that 60 Hounslow children will now be able to take up a school place at Floreat this September.

“The Office of National Statistics has forecast that the number of pupils at state schools in England is to rise by nearly a million to reach eight million within a decade, with the most rapid increases seen in London. Nowhere is this truer than in Hounslow. We need to do everything that we can to enable new schools to be built and give Hounslow children the best start in life.

“We will continue to work with the EFA to investigate suitable alternative options for the permanent site.”
