The Fastbus express bus linking Acton High Street and Wembley Stadium is supported by Brent and Ealing Councils, the West London Strategic Transport Group, and now by Park Royal Partnership (PRP).
The scheme would see an environmentally-friendly bus running up and down Horn Lane every ten minutes carrying up to 2.5 million passengers a year. It would use existing bus lanes through Acton, Park Royal and Wembley to provide a decent alternative to the North Circular and the A40 corridor. It would also link Acton Mainline – a Crossrail station – with other stations in the area.
“Existing public transport in North and West London has good radial links but is weak for orbital travel, especially between Wembley, Park Royal and Acton, where the North Circular Road and A40 experience major congestion problems”, said Alan Coates, PRP Chairman.
“The benefits of the proposed Fastbus service are numerous. The service will provide West London with a quick and efficient north-south public transport route linking Wembley, Park Royal and Acton in 25 minutes, running through eight tube and rail interchanges”.
