A joint European Social Fund co-financing has been launched to support individuals into employment – tenders for funds are open now.
Ealing is among five London boroughs eligible for funding from the new London Councils European Social Fund (ESF), which is now open for applications, and which will invest £3.56 million.
The ESF revenue funding is designed to complement the £50m Outer London Fund, and the £70 riot regeneration fund. It aims to support unemployed and economically inactive Londoners by providing training and employment support, and to give them aspirations for improving their lives.
Mayor of London, Boris Johnson said: “I have no doubt that London will recover strongly from the economic downturn but we need to ensure all Londoners are equipped with the skills needed to take up new employment opportunities.”
