A petition has been handed to Eric Pickles as the campaign against Capco’s regeneration of Earls Court continues.
The reported 1,000-signature petition has been handed in to the Secretary of State protesting about the redevelopment of the West Kensington and Gibbs Green estates as part of Capco’s plans to produce 7,500 new homes as well as commercial space on the site largely occupied by the present exhibition centre.
The campaigners argue that their estates are not in need of refurbshment or regeneration, and are not dilapidated, while LB Hammersmith & Fulham feel that considerable benefits would accrue to present residents and to the rest of the borough by enabling the redevelopment.
