Ealing Youth Centre gets £2m facelift

Ealing Council has moved forward with plans to revitalise the W13 Youth Centre in Ealing by appointing construction firm, Thomas Sinden Limited, to modernise and expand the site.

The centre on Churchfield Road, W13, received a £2 million redevelopment grant from central government last year after a successful bid by Ealing Council. The money will be spent on remodelling and refurbishing the existing building, transforming it into a hub for young people. Facilities will include a gym, a sports hall, a recording studio and a training kitchen.

It will also host a wide range of services such as activities for young people with additional needs, help with education and careers, sexual health services and family and school advice. Young people who use the W13 centre have been involved in developing the proposals.

Construction work is scheduled to start before the end of the year. The redeveloped centre is due to open its doors in September 2011.
