Ealing will take back housing control

The new leader of Ealing Council has said they will take back control of management of Ealing’s Council-owned housing.

The homes have been managed by Ealing Homes – an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) – who had already been served notice by the previous Conservative administration. The new leader, Julian Bell, told the Ealing Gazette that they would bring the homes directly back under Council management, and that this move might produce savings.

The Conservative plan had been to find another ALMO to manage the homes, and they had issued an OJEU notice of the tender process to find one.
