Ealing Council has committed more than a quarter of a million pounds to attract shoppers back to The Avenue, in West Ealing, where five shops have closed recently.
The Council will spend £280,000 on improvements designed to improve footfall, and boost trade for the retailers.
An Ealing Council Spokeswoman, tols the Ealing Gazette: “We are carrying out improvements to 10 shopping parades in the borough to make them more attractive to shoppers, such as by installing new paving and street furniture. Officers have already visited The Avenue to assess the site and over coming weeks will contact individual traders to consult them on what improvements they would like to see the £280,000 set aside for the project to be spent on. Designs will be drawn up in the Autumn, with work on site scheduled to begin before the end of the year.”
