A new community hub is to be created outside one of Brent’s libraries in spring 2018.
The space in front of Ealing Road Library in Wembley could play host to performances, outdoor seating, library activities, cinema screenings and market days.
The development is planned to take shape over the next three months, with work starting in March through to May.
Two new single storey buildings will also be built; one for a café or tea room together with a disabled toilet, and the other will be a new community enterprise space.
Cllr Tom Miller, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, said: “Brent Council is investing in Ealing Road, starting with the space in front of the library. This new pedestrian space will provide a hub for a number of community activities. We are focused on providing more opportunities to learn and work in the borough as well as creating safe spaces for recreation.”
