Proposals for road resurfacing have been announced by Ealing Council.
As well as the funding proposals for next year, the council also announced it will spend £689,700 straight away to introduce new specialist ‘drive-through-and-fix’ crews to deal with potholes caused by the recent snow.
The worst wintry conditions in decades have made many road surfaces deteriorate as water freezes and expands in cracks, making the surface crumble. Following the wintry conditions contractors and members of the public have reported more than 8,000 potholes to the council. Eight teams will sweep through the borough over seven weeks to find and fill the potholes.
The proposals for next year include spending a further £6.5million from April to resurface roads and pavements across the borough.
