Ealing Parks win Awards

Two parks in Ealing have won national Awards.

Northala Fields, already in receipt of a Green Flag Award ealrier this year, won two of the awards at the BALI  (British Association of Landscape Industries) National Landscape Awards 2009. It was the winner in the Land Renewal and Regeneration Scheme category and also won the Special Award for use of recycled materials.

Northala was created using rubble from the demolition of the original Wembley Stadium and a number of other building sites, including Westfield shopping centre.

King Georges playing fields in Hanwell won the Community Involvement award. It was also runner-up in the Land Renewal and Regeneration Scheme category.

Both schemes had also won awards at last months Horticulture Week National Awards.
