Ealing looks for more partners

Ealing Council are looking for partners to help them deliver their 2,500 genuinely affordable homes target by 2022.

Last year, the council was successful in securing £100 million and a target of 1,138 builds – the biggest in the capital, from the GLA for their ‘Building Council Homes for Londoners’ programme. These homes will be available via tenures including social rent, London Living Rent and London Affordable Rent and will be Ealing Council housing builds.

Ealing is the first council to have already delivered genuinely affordable homes (GAH) under the ‘Building Council Homes for Londoners’ programme. To date, 127 homes have been completed and the council is set to deliver at least 1,130 by March 2022.

An example of the first GAH are at Copley Hanwell, a council estate, this is being regenerated by Ealing Council – again a first by a London authority.

Ealing Council will deliver 1,138 new builds – funded by the GLA’s award – which will be Ealing Council builds. To meet the balance to bring the delivery total up to 2,500, the council is now looking for partners to help it deliver on the balance in a range of locations and specifications across the borough.
