Ealing HS2 tunnel confirmed

HS2 visualisationThe government has confirmed that the HS2 high-speed rail line will run in a tunnel through Ealing and Northolt.

An HS2 spokesman told the BBC: “By running our trains through a tunnel here we will save time during construction and there will be less disruption to residents, businesses and on local roads, particularly at Hanger Lane.”

The tunnelled section will run between the station at Old Oak Common and Northolt. It is the time saving Рaround 15 months Рto the project that sealed the change Рas it reduces the cost substantially.
