Ealing Heritage Quarter work complete

An £800,000 programme to install new antique-style lighting in Ealing’s newly created Heritage Quarter has been completed. Work has also been carried out to upgrade the main shopping area in Northfield Avenue.

The next phase of the Heritage Quarter project is the restoration of Pitzhanger Manor House and Gallery which is at design stage following a public consultation. The council has committed more than £3m to the project and is through to the second round of bidding for £1.7m more from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Councillor Jason Stacey, Leader of Ealing Council, said: We promised a new lease of life for one of Ealings most prestigious areas when plans to create a Heritage Quarter were announced. The new street lighting, hanging baskets and additional trees have really helped to enhance the character of the area, so Im pleased we are making good on our commitment.
