LB Ealing has confirmed it will take back direct control of the management of its social housing.
The plans were trailed immediately following the election of the new Labour run administration in May, and were agreed this week by the council’s Cabinet. The decision will come into effect after 31 March 2011 when the agreement with Ealing Homes, the current housing management organisation, comes to an end.
The council say the decision is backed by council tenants and leaseholders. They have published the results of a postal survey showing that 61% supported plans to bring Ealing Homes in-house with only 6% opposing the plans.
