Ealing cleans up Greenford shopfronts

LB Ealing is continuing its efforts to spruce up Greenford Town Centre.

The ‘Good for Greenford’ regeneration programme is to carry out refurbishments to selected buildings in Greenford Broadway and Ruislip Road East in order to make the town centre more attractive and inviting.

A group of mostly local contractors are helping to restore shopfronts and making improvements to columns and plinths. The improvement works offered by the council are only available to independent small retailers.

Kirit Patel, owner of Hallmark, said: A lot of the shopfronts already look a lot better, and the appearance of the town has improved a lot.

The next phase of works in the Good for Greenford £5.1million regeneration scheme has also begun. Works along Ruislip Road East (north side) are due for completion by the end of November, including new paving, new street lighting, and changes to Costons Lane junction to improve safety and congestion.
