EA takes action on Acton air quality

The Environment Agency is taking action to improve air quality in Acton.

This follows the results of an air quality study around the Horn Lane industrial estate. The study found harmful levels of pollution and toxins in the air, possibly due to the demolition of the Hanson concrete plant which was then in progress.

Environment Officer John Skipper told the Ealing Gazette: “We have introduced an air quality action plan and as part of this, continue to inspect and regulate the sites that we permit on a regular basis. We are investigating what could have caused the recent and unusually high dust particulate levels.”
