Applications to refurbish two commercial buildings as Hotels in central Harrow have been approved.
The two hotels will provide two hundred rooms between them, with a Travelodge in Sheridan House (on St Anns Road) providing 114, and a second hotel on Station Road providing 86. The Travelodge is estimated by the Harrow Observer to provide up to 40 new jobs. The Sheridan House scheme involves adding two extra storeys to the building.
The Station Road scheme will involve the demolition of Temple House, and it’s replacement with a five storey building.
The Observer reports existing town centre hotels opposed the plans, saying the market was saturated. This contrasts with figures seen by Place West London which suggest the town centre operates at full occupancy, and that there is scope for more hotel accomodation.
