Dorsett Hotel’s plans to convert the Walkabout pub on Shepherds Bush Green in to an aparthotel have been refused.
The plans involved the demolition of the locally listed pub, and its replacement with a 16 storey block containing hotel facilities and apartments. The site is next to Dorsett’s recently opened hotel, in the former Shepherds Bush Pavilion building, with the Shepherds Bush Empire on its other side.
Hammersmith & Fulham Council refused the application as too large and dominant in the conservation area and a loss of entertainment use.
The Walkabout was a source of anti-social behaviour, and is presently vacant, following closure in 2013.
