Save Our Skyline, the residents’ group campaigning against Grainger and Helical Bar’s Hammersmith scheme, are raising funds to retain Drivers Jonas to act for them.
According to reports on website Fulham Today, SOS are working with other lobby groups to raise the fighting fund. “A number of local groups, including Hammersmith Mall Residents Association (HAMRA) and the Hammersmith Society, in conjunction with SOS, are pooling their resources to retain Drivers Jonas Deloitte, the business advisory and property consulting firm, to review and oppose the planning application.”
Grainger and Helical Bar have now submitted a planning applicationfor the development, which is supported in principle by LB Hammersmith & Fulham, who will gain new Town Hall facilities from it. LBHF commissioned a report from Price Waterhouse to investigate if the scheme could be scaled back, particularly as regards the height of the blocks closest to the river which is a bone of contention with SOS, but the results suggested it could not.
