The Mayor of London has formally launched his ‘direction of travel’ for London. As widely trailed, it says he will encourage development in London’s suburban Boroughs, which includes all six in West London.
Boris Johnson, advised on this by Sir Simon Milton, says there is a range of development opportunity in the ring of boroughs which should be taken advantage of, and that he would be setting up an Outer London Commission to identify ways of doing this."In future more emphasis needs to be given to issues effecting outer London and ways of realising untapped potential there. Central, inner and outer London are inextricably linked, none can succeed in isolation from the others, and this will be a major theme in our approach to planning in London."
