Glenkerrin believe that, following the Dickens Yard approval, their Arcadia scheme will be essential to reinvigorating Ealing as a metropolitan centre.
Speaking to Property Week, Sean O'Gorman, a director at Glenkerrin, said that the Arcadia scheme would bring another £90m of retail spend back tot he Broadway, and take Ealing back into the top 100 retail destinations. O'Gorman, who is reported by Save Ealing's Centre to have applauded at the end of the meeting which approved, says adding Arcadia's 225,000 sq ft of retail to Dickens Yard's 100,000 sq ft will provide the critical mass required.
Several retailers have left Ealing in recent years, including Russell & Bromley, Miss Selfridge and Wallis.
