DHL International has signed for a unit on SEGRO’s Premier Park.
The logistics company has signed a 10 year lease to occupy 61,720 sq ft on the Premier Park Estate in Park Royal as part of a relocation of its expanding parcel business.
DHL has seen a significant increase in demand for its parcel distribution services, partly driven by the growth in e-commerce related activity. As a result, it has chosen to relocate its international parcel businesses operations to premises in West London, which are three times the size of its previous facilities. DHL chose Premier Park for its location – in the heart of Park Royal, with easy and direct access to Central London as well the surrounding areas of Heathrow and the A40 Western Corridor.
Alan Holland, SEGRO’s Business Unit Director for Greater London, said: “This transaction with DHL, an existing customer, is part of a growing trend we are seeing from postal courier companies requiring buildings of approximately 30,000 sq ft to 70,000 sq ft, located close to major conurbations to service their ‘last mile’ urban distribution activities.”
SEGRO say they had considerable interest in the property. Park Royal remains a popular location for logistics companies despite uncertainty over Heathrow.
