DevSec reveal new plans for Hammersmith

hammersmith groveDevelopment Securities have revealed new plans for their Hammersmith Grove site.

The developer has produced new plans for the site, near Hammersmith Broadway, which is presently a car park. On their website they say the changes are a response to market conditions.

They have consent for a scheme nicknamed the Strawberry, and also the Armadillo. Their new proposals, designed by Hamiltons (or BFLS as they are now known) make a less dramatic impact on the skyline, as can be seen from the illustrations. The red lines show the outline of the Armadillo.

hammersmith groveThe new proposals comprise two buildings, with restaurants and shops at ground floor level alongside the new public realm. As with the approved scheme, the upper floors would be for offices. The proposals also maintain the pedestrian crossing on Beadon Road. While the approved scheme involved narrowing Hammersmith Grove, the new one does not, and the deep basement and cinema in the consented scheme has been removed.
