Dawson takes helm at Brixton

Peter Dawson Peter Dawson is to become the new CEO at Brixton.

Peter Dawson, currently the Company’s Investment Director, is to be appointed as Chief Executive with immediate effect. Peter will succeed Tim Wheeler who will be leaving the Company.

Peter joined Brixton from Jones Lang LaSalle (then known as Jones Lang Wootton) in 1997. He was appointed Managing Director of Brixton Investments in 2004 before joining the Board in December 2007.

On 18 February 2009 the Company announced that it was pursuing a range of options to provide additional financial flexibility. In a statement today it said that it had “decided to change its Chief Executive at this time to ensure that it has the most appropriate leadership in place for the long term future of the Company”.

Preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2008 will be announced on March 16. The company says today’s announcement is unconnected to those results.

Peter Dawson said: “I am delighted to be appointed Chief Executive of Brixton and am looking forward to having the opportunity to take a leading role in the next phase of the Company’s development.

“My immediate priority will be to secure additional financial flexibility for Brixton. Despite the unprecedented market conditions, I believe that we have a very strong future with our focus on prime industrial and warehouse property in strategic locations, a diversified tenant base, and excellent customer service and asset management.”
