Dairy plans continue despite HS2

Plans to regenerate the former Express Dairy site in South Ruislip, are set to progress despite the potential impact of HS2.

Up to 285 new homes, a supermarket, shops and offices had been proposed for the Victoria Road site prior to the news in December that the railway lines at the south of the dairy site owned by Arla Foods would form part of the chosen route for the High Speed Two line (HS2).

Bob Phillips of e*Scape told the Uxbridge Gazette that they still intend to submit a planning application by April this year. He said: “It is already a busy line and we would have to deal with noise issues anyway. There are technical solutions we are looking at, including barriers of tree planting and special glazing. We are fairly confident that we can sort it out.”

The site has been derelict for four years and an exhibition last year found support for doing something on it, say the developers.
