Crossrail station plans progress

Crossrail expect to submit plans for two station refurbishments in Hillingdon early next year.

They say the plans will offer significant improvements to West Drayton, and Hayes & Harlington stations.

Hayes & Harlington will get a new main building, a replacement footbridge, stairs, and lifts. West Drayton will have its ticket hall refurbished and a new platform created.

Crossrail told the Uxbridge Gazette: “Crossrail will transform how people in West Drayton and Hayes travel. Passengers will be able to reach Tottenham Court Road in under 25 minutes, Liverpool Street within 30 minutes and Canary Wharf in 36 minutes.”

The station design has been said to be critical to the regenerative effect of the stations on the surrounding areas.
