Cricket pitch to be retained

The Cricketfield Road cricket ground will be retained for community use rather than being sold for redevelopment, say LB Hillingdon.

The council has said that it will demolish the dilapidated pavilion and retain the six-acre site for community use.

Jean Palmer, the council’s director of planning, told the Uxbridge Gazette: “This is council land and there is no plan to sell it to a developer. Once the old pavilion has been demolished, we will work to introduce a suitable use that benefits the local community.”
