Council plan for RAF Uxbridge confirmed

RAF Uxbridge hillingdon house An outline of a development for the RAF Uxbridge site which includes 1,600 new homes, a theatre, shops and a new primary school has been adopted by the Council.

Hillingdon Council's cabinet meeting supported the decision as a positive move for the area's economy and as a way of providing more affordable homes.

Tere had been a public consultation in September and October of last year.Most people consulted supported the plans.

The RAF Uxbridge site would besliced into quarters. One would be an extension to Uxbridge town centre with shops, restaurants, a theatre and around 700 homes. Commercial space in general has been reduced from the first drafts as the Council feels it can be provided in and around the existing Town Centre. Two other quarters are for homes, with the fourth for open space around the River Pinn.

Defence Estates are expected to submit a planning application in the Summer.
