Council organises jobs fair

Harrow Council have organised a job fair with 20 major recruiters.

The Xcite Employment & Training Fair takes place at the Civic Centre and puts Harrow residents searching for jobs in direct contact with recruiting companies and training providers.

Exhibitors at the latest fair include Crossrail, Barclays, Harrow Police and The Army, alongside jobs in security, hospitality, an insurance company and an elderly care home. Training opportunities from Harrow & Stanmore colleges and the Workers Educational Association will also be available, and CV workshops and interview support is on offer for those wanting to brush up on their technique.

In the last two years the Xcite fairs have helped over 100 people back into work.

Cllr Keith Ferry, portfolio holder for planning and economic development on Harrow Council, said: “The Council is here to help residents looking for work and the Xcite fair aims to do just that, by putting them in direct contact with major employers.”

The Xcite Employment Fair is on Friday 25th May, 11am-3pm at Harrow Civic Centre.
