The Council says it is looking for "visionary developers who can seize this opportunity and respond to the challenges of a major housing-lead regeneration project". They say the successful developer will radically transform the Copley Close area by providing new high-quality affordable and private homes in a sustainable and vibrant neighbourhood.
Copley Close currently consists of approximately 637 Local Authority owned homes mainly rented, and is still substantially a mono-tenure area. Ealing Council is looking for a development partner to replace the social rented accommodation and provide additional housing options as well as community and commercial facilities to help retain a strong sense of community.
The Site is approximately 8 hectares and is predominantly a residential area. Ealing Council is freeholder of the majority of the estate and holds 999 year lease from Network Rail on the remainder. Given the proximity of the estate to the railway line and Castle Bar and Drayton Green Railway stations, Network Rail is an important stakeholder in the project.
The tender is the subject of an OJEU notice. Further information available from email@example.com
