Consultation on Linford Christie Stadium

Hammersmith & Fulham Council have opened a consultation on the future of the Linford Christie Stadium in East Acton, with one option being a 45,000 capacity stadium.

Four options are given in the consultation with the football stadium, designed by Populous, being the most ambitious and expensive.

The stadium plans include a roof that could be lowered or raised and a pitch that could also be raised. In this option there isĀ also a new athletics track and stand next to the stadium, hockey facilities, a skate park and other sports and leisure facilities on the 6.47-hectare site.

The project would be funded by the council.

The other options are for 42,000 or 35,000 capacity stadia, with a variety of different additional facilities.
