Connected Living London gets first consent

Transport for London and Grainger have been granted consent for their Southall Sidings scheme.

The 460 home project by Connected Living London, the Grainger/TfL partnership, will include 40% affordable housing across five buildings. It was designed by Assael Architecture.

The Southall Sidings site is close to Southall station and is currently used for storage and associated Elizabeth line (Crossrail) works. It is the first of four schemes being progressed currently by the partnership. Grainger was chosen in 2019 as TfL’s partner for plans to develop 3000 homes for rent across eight sites. The list also included a site at Hounslow West station with potential for around 350 homes.

Helen Gordon, chief executive of Grainger, said: “This is an exciting and important milestone for our partnership, which over the coming years is set to make a positive difference for renters and communities across London.”
