Community bid for library fails

Harrow’s Bob Lawrence Library is to close after the council has decided a community group’s plan is not workable.

The Friends of Bob Lawrence Library group had submitted a business plan to keep the library open after Harrow Council decided to close it down to save money.

Now the group’s plan has been rejected by the council as not able to sustain a community managed library.

The library will close on June 13. It is likely Harrow Council will look to find alternative uses for the site.
