ColArt show plans for factory site

ColArt have shown plans for a 200 home development on the Wealdstone site of the factory they closed last year.

The specialist paint plant in Whitefriars Avenue closed in 2011 and production was moved to France. Now owners ColArt Group have held a public exhibition showing plans for 198 new homes, office space and communal gardens on the 2.4ha plot.

ColArt told the Harrow Observer: “Aiming to create a new and sustainable community and neighbourhood, the development will provide a wide range of residential housing, from starter homes and apartments to large family homes, in addition to civic spaces and communal gardens.

“Reflecting the history of paint production at the site, the housing will be highlighted with colour, adopting hues taken from the colour chart created by the factory.”
