Global telecommunications giant ZTE has officially opened its UK head office in Slough.
The Chinese-based manufacturer and supplier of telecommunications equipment has operations in 160 countries and is the third largest smart phone provider in the USA.
Hoping to repeat its success in Britain, the €8bn corporation settled on Landmark Place in Slough town centre as its UK home.
Tony Chen, managing director of ZTE UK, said: “We are a multinational company with operations in more than 100 countries in the world.
“Therefore, it is extremely important for our head office to be in a location well connected with other global brands in our sectors and our UK telecom clients.”
Ruth Bagley, chief executive of Slough Borough Council, said: “Very few towns in the UK are as connected as Slough is to London, the rest of the country and the world.
“That, coupled with the massive regeneration and infrastructure projects underway, makes Slough an ideal destination for any company wanting to grow their global business”.
