Plans for a redesigned Stamford Bridge have been shown as part of a consultation.
The plans, designed by Beijing Olympic Stadium architects Herzog and de Meuron’s for the reportedly £500 million stadium redesign are described as “a brick gothic-inspired structure with buttresses, ribs and columns”.
It also has a reference to the original 14th century bridge it was named after in a new pedestrian link from Fulham Road.
The new stadium would increase the club’s capacity from 42,000 to 60,000.
