Chelsea deny Battersea reports

Chelsea FC have rubbished reports at the weekend that they were considering a move to Battersea.

The Observer reported this weekend they were considering a £500m move from Stamford Bridge to an HOK Sport designed 75,000 seater stadium near Battersea Power Station, but the Club has described the reports as "total nonsense", according to Building.

An HOK employee was quoted as saying that its presentation was “common knowledge” around the club.

Chelsea released the following statement: “Chelsea is not actively considering moving to this site in Battersea… the architects HOK have not been commissioned by Chelsea to build a stadium and do not work for the club. Their approach was unsolicited.”
