Place West London is changing for 2014. For five years we have held one annual one day conference with an evening dinner. For our sixth year, we will be doing things differently, and holding not one, but three separate events.
The first will be in May, and will focus on Heathrow, the second, in June, will take a look at regeneration across the sub-region, while the third will examine innovation and the role it can play in growing the West London economy.
The three events are:
May 12 – Heathrow’s future: Crossroads for the West London economy
The Academy, Heathrow
This is a crucial moment for the aviation sector in the UK, and for our national economy. The recommendation that Sir Howard Davies’ Airports Commission will give after the next General Election could shape the economic future of the whole country. Nowhere will this be more keenly felt than in West London. With the interim recommendation that additional capacity is needed – at least one more runway – and the fact that a new estuary airport remains on the possible list, the economic impact of the decision in West London and the Thames Valley could not be clearer. Join the debate!
June 25 – Place West London: West London’s Regeneration
The Hurlingham Club, Fulham
A strategic conference that gives delegates from companies, organisations and the public sector the chance to listen and debate on issues key to the future success of West London, followed by a glittering networking dinner.
September 9 – Economic Growth through innovation: West London’s key strength
Brunel University, Uxbridge
Innovation is central to economic success, and it’s something West London has a grand history in. Nowhere is this more keenly seen that at Brunel University, where innovation – and the commercialisation of that innovation – runs through the DNA. Come and see how the education sector works with business to grow wealth and create jobs.
