Cargiant buys Lewis site

Cargiant has acquired the John Lewis site in Park Royal in a strategic move linked to the redevelopment of its main site.

QPR had bid for the John Lewis site too, as part of its plan to relocate to be next to the proposed Old Oak Common HS2/Crossrail interchange. Moving Cargiant would be key to those plans, although QPR are challenged by not owning any of the land necessary.

Cargiant occupy 43 acres at Old Oak, so the John Lewis site is not big enough for a wholesale relocation. However, they are working with Lipton Rogers and First Base to bring forward their own plans for the redevelopment of their site, which the Mayor of London’s Mayoral Development Corporation is likely to see as a key site in its vision for delivering commercial space for 70,000 new jobs.
