Capco goes office-to-resi on Empress

Empress_State_BuildingCapital & Counties has submitted plans for an office-to-resi conversion of the Empress State Building at Earls Court.

The 600,000 sq ft building has been deemed surplus to requirements by current occupier the Metropolitan Police. Capco has now submitted plans for the conversion of the Empress State to 340 homes, a change from the masterplan which saw it as office space.

The scheme, designed by KPF, also proposes to re-clad all the facades to better suit residential use and improve thermal performance.
