Brunel University is to host an event focussed on economic growth.
The event – titled “Making Growth Happen’ Have Your Say!” will take place on Tuesday 25th September from 1pm in the Eastern Gateway Building, at Brunel University.
Taking place in the University’s brand new Business School, the event aims to bring together business, academics and students to focus on what needs to be done if Britain is to emerge from recession.
After a welcome from the Vice Chancellor, Professor Chris Jenks, there will be keynote presentations by business leaders (BAA, Jaguar Land Rover, The Cathedral Group, Giraffe Innovation, and CBI), followed by Brunel’s newly appointed Professor of Contemporary Thought, Will Self.
Then delegates will get the chance to discuss what – from their perspectives – needs to be done to achieve sustainable economic growth. The output will be a definitive Ten Point Plan. This ‘manifesto’ will be written up and widely distributed – not least to the Government – as a record of the event but also as a call to action.
