Brickfields to be sold

White City dairy crest sketch may 2012Helical Bar and Aviva have agreed a sale of their Brickfields site in White City.

The site, the former Dairy Crest site just south of the Westway, has outline consent to build 11 buildings, ranging in height from eight to 32 storeys, on the 10 acre site.

The scheme will see existing industrial buildings demolished and replaced by new offices, up to 1,150 homes, and a range of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, along with a multi storey car park. There will also be a crèche, new public open spaces with a children’s recreational ground, two squares, ecological walk, new roads and walkways, and health, leisure and community facilities.

Helical and Aviva have exchanged contracts for sale, but have not revealed the identity of the purchaser. The site is directly across Wood Lane from the TV Centre, now subject to a development agreement between the BBC and Stanhope. Imperial College are developing a new campus just north of the Westway on the former BBC Woodlands site. To the South, Westfield are building a significant extension to their Westfield London shopping centre.
