Waterside Places plans for phase three of their Brentford Lock West development have been approved.
Waterside saytheir plans “complete the rejuvenation of Brentford Lock with proposals which follow the quality, pattern and scale established in previous phases”.
The plans include a new footbridge from the public square across the canal to Robin Grove Recreation Ground, improving the connection to Brentford Station; a new public square facing the Grand Union Canal; commercial and retail spaces around the new public square; a new north overhanging warehouse frame to maintain the industrial heritage of the existing warehouses; new community facilities and improvements to the existing dock on the Grand Union Canal; enhancements to landscaping and play spaces; new mooring facilities and towpath improvements; and 452 new homes, including 182 affordable homes.
Brentford Lock West is located on the Grand Union Canal close to local shops, leisure facilities, parks and waterside walkways. Brentford Lock West forms part of a long-term regeneration project to breathe new life into Brentford and has been designed to maximize the water frontage.
