Planning permission has been granted for Essential Living’s mixed-use retail and residential development at Brentford High Street East.
Juice Architects designed the commercial and public realm elements of the scheme, around a new piazza with a new food store, retail, restaurants and 221 apartments on upper floors.
It aims to form the key eastern gateway to the town centre.
Extensive public realm is at the heart of the place and has shaped the development footprint. A new piazza on the old line of St Paul’s Road links the High Street with St Paul’s Church and re-establishes a long lost view. It aims to reactivate the old High Street by creating a real ‘sense of place’ with active frontages forming a key integral element of the residential threshold and reinforcing civic pride.
The development is programmed to start on site in 2018
