Brent Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy has won the Award for Community Led Placemaking at the Planning Awards 2019.
The judges felt the initiative was “ground breaking”. It is community led and directly leads to community projects being implemented. Communities have led on establishing priorities for funding, and in securing successful awards – projects do not get funded without demonstrable evidence of community support.
To date 214 applications for funding have been received – demonstrating the massive interest from communities and approximately £4.9m in NCIL grant funding has been allocated to 114 community projects.
