Brent Meet the Buyer event goes virtual

Brent businesses have the opportunity to play a part in the borough’s regeneration at a Meet the Buyer event, which is being held virtually, next month.

Higgins Group, who have two developments in the borough – Chippenham Gardens and Stonebridge – are looking to talk to local brickwork, carpentry, cladding, cleaning, mechanical & electrical and roofing suppliers at Brent Meet the Buyer, taking place on 4 November.

Brent for Business – a Brent Council initiative – is staging the event to showcase the opportunities for business growth in the London borough, which is currently undergoing a multi-billion-pound programme of regeneration.

Higgins’ Chippenham Gardens development will see 52 homes built on the site of 5-9 Chippenham Gardens, Kilburn Park Post Office and 4-26 Stuart Road in four, five and six storey buildings with associated highways works, landscaping and cycle and refuse provision. The Stonebridge development will see 73 homes built and one retail unit developed on two sites linked by a new public open space.

The Meet the Buyer event will enable local construction sector suppliers to network with the developer and negotiate deals. It is free for businesses to book their place and discuss their opportunity.

A spokesman for Higgins Group said: “With two major developments underway in Brent we’re keen to see local suppliers help us in delivering new homes.

“We’re looking forward to meeting, and hopefully agreeing contracts with, Brent-based suppliers virtually on 4 November.”

Councillor Shama Tatler, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Property and Planning at Brent Council said: “Brent Council is keen to work with key stakeholders to ensure that all development in Brent benefits the borough as a whole and provides opportunity for its businesses. We want to help Brent businesses expand their networks, increase their marketing and provide platforms that allow our businesses to grow.

“So please get involved and take full advantage of this unique opportunity, to ensure Brent businesses go from strength to strength.”
