Brent Council has completed a Digital Business Skills programme with a number of Wembley High Road business owners.
Twenty businesses on Wembley High Road and the Triangle successfully completed the Digital Business Skills programme, designed to help small businesses establish and develop their online presence. The council hopes these skills will enable Brent businesses to grow using online tools.
Brent Council, in partnership with the Mayor of London, secured funding from the Mayor’s High Street Fund to deliver a series of high street and town centre improvement schemes, beginning with the Digital Business Skills programme.
Councillor Roxanne Mashari, Lead Member for Regeneration and Growth, Employment and Skills, said: “It was wonderful to support so many businesses on Wembley High Road developing skills to help increase the local economy, and secure the future of our high streets. Together, we are making Wembley High Road a great destination for locals and visitors alike”.
Issam Ahmed; owner of Sam’s Barbers, Wembley High Road said: “I greatly benefitted from the Digital High Street Programme. It provided me with the opportunity to work alongside other businesses whom I’d not met before, acquire new skills to help strengthening the running of our business, and helped forge a greater relationship with the Council. I am glad I participated.”
Bina and Diviya of Wonderland, Wembley High Road: “We are inspired and extremely grateful by the support and guidance received by the Digital Business skills training team, and glad to be involved in this pilot programme.”
