Brent Cross gets Mayoral approval

Boris Johnson has given an in-principle approval for the huge Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration plans.

Although outside Brent (and in LB Barnet), the £4bn plans are close enough to warrant West London interest, and lie at the eastern end of LB Brent's North Circular regeneration plans.

However, concerns remain in the Mayor's office over some issues – mainly housing, design and transport – which, says Property Week, have to be addressed before the application is referred back to the Mayor for a final decision.

Barnet Council is still considering the planning application for the scheme, which involves 7,500 homes, three schools, health facilities, parks and open spaces.
