Brent Cross detail goes in

Hammerson and Standard Life Investments have submitted the detailed planning application for the first phase of their Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration.

The Brent Cross Cricklewood Development Partners’ plans include improvements to roads and junctions in the area, the Living Bridge – a new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the North Circular, investment in Clitterhouse Playing Fields to produce new sports facilities and a new pavilion with café, turning Claremont Open Space into a new community park, and the start of the creation of the new Brent Riverside Park, as well as new homes for those being relocated from the Whitefield Estate.

This would be the first phase of the £4.5bn, 350 acres project which was granted planning consent in 2010 with an update in 2014. In total it aims to deliver 7,500 homes, 27,000 jobs, three schools, a new Thameslink station, a cinema and other leisure facilities as well as the redevelopment of Brent Cross Shopping Centre.
