Brent approve homes plan

Brent Council have approved a plan to buy homes and build temporary ones to house those on its homeless register.

The £130million plan could involve the purchase of 600 homes.

Temporary homes could be built on a site in London Road, Wembley, and at Knowles House in Longstone Road, Harlesden.

The move should remove issues around placing families into private accommodation with rents higher than the housing benefit cap, and reduce or eliminate the use of B&B and hostel accommodation.
